At Scuti, email is the main channel to communicate with customers for collecting product reviews and asking for referrals on social media. Given that, we want to give you enough flexibility to customize the email so as to match your brand’s look. In addition, we give the option to preview the email and/or send a test email to see how your custom email looks like before sending it out to your customers.

You can customize emails from Campaigns -> Creating a new campaign -> Step 3 (settings) -> Emails -> Request (or Reminder) Email section. Note that the same customizations are available for email reminders as well. The options for customizations are Logo, Subject Line, and Email Text.

Add your brand’s Logo

You can add your logo on the top of emails that Scuti sends to your customers. You should first create a URL for your logo image and paste the URL in the Logo URL box, as shown below:

Note that adding the Logo URL is optional. While there are several online tools with which you can create a URL for your logo image, you can do it right from your Shopify admin:

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin -> Settings -> Files.
  2. Click “Upload files” and select your logo image.
  3. Once finished, copy the URL under the “Link” column and paste it on the Logo URL box.

Subject Line and Email Text

First of all, it’s worth noting that we already provided a default subject line and text for both request and reminder emails. These are the copies with the highest open rates across our clients. So you may want to use these default copies.

However, you have the option to edit both the subject line and email text. Using the text editor, you can make a text bolditalic, or underline as well as add an Ordered/Unordered list of items:

In addition, we allow you to use some placeholders that are eventually replaced by the customer’s info. Please note that all these placeholders should be exactly as you see them in the default copies; otherwise, they won’t get replaced:

For all campaign types:

{{Order number}} -> The order number associated with the customer’s purchase. Example is #1234.

{{customer first name}} -> The customer’s first name, if available. If not, Scuti uses “there”.

Only for Hybrid & Reviews campaign types:

{{discount details}} -> It is the reward you defined in Step2 for leaving reviews. Examples are 20% off on all products or $10 off on all products.

Note that even if you set up a referral reward in the hybrid campaign, {{discount details}} is only about the reviews reward.

Only for Referrals campaign type:

{{Referral discount details}} -> It is the reward you defined in Step 2 for referrals on social media. Examples are 20% off on all products or $10 off on all products.

Preview and Send a test email

Once you made your changes, you can see a preview of your email by clicking on the blue button, as shown below:

In addition, you can send a test email to an arbitrary email address to see how the email looks like in practice. Just click on the green button “Send a test email”, then enter your email address (it’s the store’s email by default), and click on Submit to receive the actual email.

In the actual email, the {{discount details}} is replaced by whatever you’ve chosen in Step 2, {{order number}} with 1234, and {{customer first name}} with your store name. Note that the button (e.g., Write a review) in the actual email is not clickable.
