Moderating reviews

Scuti allows merchants to manage their collected/imported reviews in terms of how they are displayed in the Shopify store. While you can’t edit the content of the review (like rating, text, or photo), you can set up which reviews to be published automatically, manual approval, hide a review, or reply to a review.

Automatic & manual approval based on a certain rating

In Step 3 of Creating a campaign, under the Review Management section, you can set up which reviews should be automatically approved and published in the store based on a certain rating. For example, “4 stars and up” means any reviews with a minimum of 4 stars will be automatically approved. However, if the rating is less than 4, then it requires your manual approval from the Scuti Shopify app.

If a review didn’t automatically get approved/published based on your settings, then you should manually approve it from the Scuti Shopify admin. For doing so:

  1. Go to the Reviews page from the Scuti left menu. Then, head over your target review (by searching a keyword or using one of the filters).
  2. Click on the green button Approve.

If a review didn’t automatically get approved/published based on your settings, then you should manually approve it from the Scuti Shopify admin. For doing so:

  2. Click on the green button Approve.

Get review notification

You can subscribe to receive an email notification whenever a review is submitted. Once a customer submits a review, Scuti will send an email that includes all the review’s info (e.g., reviewer’s name, product name, text, star, etc.). In addition, we let you know whether your review has been automatically published or needs your manual approval.

Hide a Review

If you don’t want to show an approved review (for example, because it uses inappropriate language or image), you can simply hide it from your store by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reviews page from the Scuti left menu, where you can see all your reviews. Then, head over your target review (by searching a keyword or using one of the filters).
  2. Click on the red button Hide.

Note that once you hide a review, its status automatically changes to unapproved, and as a result, the grey Approve button becomes green/clickable

Reply to a Review

Once a review is submitted, you may want to interact with your customers to, for example, thank them for their positive feedback or address their issue if the review is negative. In such a situation, you should be able to reply to a review by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reviews page from the Scuti left menu, where you can see all your reviews. Then, head over your target review (by searching a keyword or using one of the filters).
  2. Click on the blue Reply button, next to the Hide button.
  3. Write your response in the text box and click on the green Reply button on the right-bottom corner. You can always edit your response by clicking again on the Reply button and changing the text
